Ferrari 312T2 (1976)

A fine 1:8 large-scale collector’s model of the Ferrari 312T2 as raced at the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix by Niki Lauda.

With the 312T2 Niki Lauda was set for an easy title defence until his horrible accident at the Nürburgring on the 2nd lap of the German Grand Prix. After amazing everyone by returning from the inferno in weeks, he wasn’t in a state to dominate as he had done before the accident, and at the rain soaked final Japanese Grand Prix common sense overcame his competitive drive, he retired and the world title went to James Hunt by one single point. Ferrari still had the constructors title in the bag.

This model has been hand-crafted utilising our own CAD data created by scanning the original car in every detail. The resulting prototype has undergone strict scrutiny by Ferrari to ensure complete accuracy.

A model of the 1976 McLaren M23D driven by James Hunt to the Championship at the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix is also available.
