A fine 1:8 large-scale collector’s model of the Jaguar XKSS from 1957. At the end of the racing season in 1956, Sir William Lyons decided to convert a number of D-Type Jaguars to road-going specification to recoup some of the racing investment. In February 1957, a fire broke out at Browns Lane destroying nine of the twenty-five cars that had already been completed or were semi-completed, leaving just 16 examples for sale.
This model has been hand-crafted utilising our own CAD data created by scanning an original car in every detail. The resulting prototype has undergone strict scrutiny by Jaguar to ensure complete accuracy.
In addition to the model shown, we offer bespoke Tailor-Made versions to any vehicle specification. These precisely detail the real car from the exterior colour and interior trim, right down to the individual options and stitching on the seats or allow you to specify a model to complement an interior design using original manufacturer paint choices. Upgrade display case options are available for this model, from the space-efficient rotating wall display through to display cases in both table top and floor-standing form. This model can also be enhanced by optional vehicle and display case lighting options to add function to your home or office interior. Please view the Tailor-Made section of the website for further details. Please note that all Tailor-Made additions are hand-built to order and subject to a longer lead time.
