Ferrari 812 Competizione A

Paying homage to Ferrari’s spectacular open-top tradition, the 812 Competizione A is the new limited series from Maranello. Equipped with a carbon-fibre Targa Top, the exquisite matrimony of performance, form and functionality drawn on from the thoroughbred sports car DNA, epitomises Ferrari’s 70 plus years of phenomenal world circuit experience.

Ferrari fondly describe the car as the evolution of a legend, with the latest evolution of Maranello’s legendary 65 degrees V12 engine reaching 830 cv and revs to 9,500 rpm, the highest output of any Ferrari road-car engine to date. Compared to its hard-top counterpart, the 812 Competizione, the Competizione A has the appearance of a lower centre of gravity due to the roof, wraparound windscreen, and flying buttresses. These buttresses are not compromised by the Targa top itself as the intricate design allows it to convert into a secondary visual element that can be stowed with ease and enjoyed to the maximum extent.

Armed with its more brutal power, the 812 Competizione A emphasises the independent steering on all four wheels to enhance the driver’s level of fun behind the wheel. Extensive use of carbon fibre has reduced the car’s overall weight and contributed to a better driving experience. With the removal of the vortex generators of the 812 Competizione, the 812 Competizione A deflects the flow using a bridge element to minimise drag, effectively behaving like a wing and increasing aerodynamic efficiency when the top is stowed.

The Competizione A targets maximum efficiency following comprehensive aerodynamic research, fully expressing Ferrari’s beliefs that the form must follow function when producing a car. The prominent attributes are the new air ducts and the rear screen and front bumper with its patented design. Presenting a unique racing soul, the 812 Competizione A offers many other remarkable features. The unmistakable engine sound simultaneously introduces a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) with the clever addition of a new exhaust tailpipe and second pair of resonators to form a perfect harmony of sounds from the exhaust and the intake system.

Upon inspection of the interior, gestures to the 812 Superfast can be seen throughout the car, maintaining the main dash and door panel interfaces, not forgetting the signature diapason motif. The door panel however has sustained a redesign with the introduction of the H-gate theme on the tunnel to produce a lighter and sportier cockpit, to reflect the car’s racing spirit.

This fine 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari 812 Competizione A, with an exterior finished in Rosso Portofino, has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of Ferrari regarding original CAD data, finishes, and paint codes. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
