A virtual concept designed exclusively for the PlayStation video game Grand Turismo Sport, the Ultimate Vision GT was conceived and rendered by McLaren’s design team to give virtual drivers the ultimate track-focused car. Powered by hybrid powertrain consisting of a four litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and high output electric motors housed in the front wheels “pods”, the concept produces 1,135hp and 940 pound-feet of torque in an all-wheel-drive car that weighs only a tonne, thanks to heavy use of pioneering carbon fibre and titanium, generating a visceral experience with a potent sensation of speed. Designed in collaboration with Gran Turismo series, the concept was designed with no limitations and requires the driver to lie flat on their stomach, allowing the design team to lower the cabin for optimised aerodynamics effectiveness. The driver’s head far is forwards above the front axle and simulates that of a motorcycle riding position, allowing pure vision of the road ahead. This enables the driver to hit every apex, creating perfect lines through the corners and shaving off every possible millisecond from their lap time.
Developed with an eye for 2030 and beyond, the Vision GT is the ultimate expression of McLaren design principles, breaking new ground whilst putting the driver at the forefront of the driving experience. The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo - Signed Edition, comes with a uniquely designed base complete with the signatures of the designers behind the concept and is available in three liveries: Performance, Ulterior, and Noir.
The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of McLaren regarding original finishes, materials, drawings and confidential CAD data. Furthermore, the prototype model has undergone detailed scrutiny by McLaren engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo is limited to just 99 pieces.
