Super Large and Large Format Commissioned Collections
Super Large and Large Format Commissioned Collections
Alan Thornton is at the disposal of our most discerning clients to create unique collections of works distilling the beauty of their car into extraordinary pieces of art. Format, size, media, the number of viewpoints to be captured and the quantity of each, are all open for discussion with Alan. Each project will be discussed, shaped and quoted for on an individual basis. Please be aware that only a very small number of commissions of this nature can be undertaken by Alan each year. Alan also has deep experience with portrait photography, so that pieces capturing car and driver together into large-format works are an additional opportunity with exciting potential.
Please connect with Alan directly to discuss your project.
Commissioned Collections - Media and Size Guide
Half Tone Printing
Alan’s Half Tone Flat Bed artwork is sprayed directly on to the brushed aluminium composite panels. The ink is then cured by a UV light that bonds it to the surface of the substrate, producing prints with an intense depth and colour intensity. The finished image is waterproof and very resistant to abrasion, so that there is no need to protect the art behind glass.

One off and short run prints at very large sizes up to a maximum 8 x 4 feet - 2.4 x 1.2 metres are possible. Multiple panels can extend the size of the work to a huge format if desired.
Traditional Screen Printing
Art Screen Printing has a long and illustrious history in the fine art world, most significantly relating to Andy Warhol’s works and that of other significant artists of the pop art movement. Alan’s work is highly disciplined and precise in nature, so working with this very technically demanding process comes naturally to him.
