The 720S is the first car to directly replace a model in McLaren’s line-up; the 650S. It forms a part of McLaren’s Super car range, and, in the words of its manufacturer, ‘The McLaren 720S embodies our relentless quest to push the limits of possibility.’
The 720S benefits from an entirely new chassis concept named the Monocage II. It includes a chassis surround and upper structure that combine to create a much stronger and lighter car than its predecessor. The engine is significantly different too, now sporting a four-litre twin-turbocharger V8, producing 710 brake horsepower, the rationale behind the model’s name.
Furthermore, aerodynamic efficiency is double that of the 650S which contributes to a 0-62 miles per hour time of 2.7 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than the 650S. The 720S also debuts McLaren’s Variable Drift Control, a new feature to appeal to adrenaline seekers.
This fine 1:8 scale model of the McLaren 720S has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops using detailed colour and material specifications, and original CAD data supplied directly from the drawing office of McLaren. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
Every Amalgam 1:8 scale model is supplied in a luxury black presentation box and mounted on a carbon fibre or leather base protected by a clear acrylic dust cover. The model title, original branding and edition number are displayed on polished stainless steel plaques mounted at the front end of the base.
