McLaren
McLaren’s history, present and future is all built the commitment, courage and creativity on its people in their relentless pursuit of perfection. This willingness to push the boundaries of the possible, combined with an enduring passion for driving, has paved the way for hundreds of breath-taking victories on the track as well as many industry-firsts and thrilling designs on the road.
Originally a racing team founded by Bruce McLaren, McLaren’s achievements as a manufacturer include victories across an unmatched spectrum of competition racing. Chief among these triumphs sits the Triple Crown: the incredible feat of winning the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the pinnacle of single-seater racing, the Indianapolis 500, the action-packed oval race, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s most prestigious endurance race, in their first ever road car. McLaren has the second oldest active and second most successful Formula One team, with over 180 race wins, over 5,000 Championship points, 8 Constructors’ and 12 Drivers’ titles to their name. Some of the most revered drivers of all time have driven a McLaren: Emerson Fittipaldi, James Hunt, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Mika Häkkinen, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and, naturally, Bruce McLaren himself, to name but a few.
The spirit of the warm, supremely talented Bruce still inspires every car built today at McLaren’s road car division, McLaren Automotive. Every McLaren is designed with one person in mind – the driver – and with one aim: to create the most exhilarating driving experiences in the world. Starting with the F1, McLaren’s creations have come to redefine the sports car industry, with such successes as the P1, the Senna and the Speedtail.
Amalgam’s journey of collaboration with McLaren started in 2007, when they began working alongside the McLaren F1 Team, producing scale replicas of its race cars. Ever since, Amalgam have been part of McLaren’s journey in becoming the British creator of luxury, high-performance sportscars and supercars, during which they have developed a deep knowledge and experience of the extraordinarily well designed and finely engineered cars created by McLaren.
