New images of our 1:8 scale model
We're excited to share with you our new photoshoot of our Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport at 1:8 scale. These fantastic new images of our model in Black Carbon with orange interior, fully exhibit the intricate detailing of the grills, the extraordinary W16 engine, and the lustre of the chrome wheel rims. Our recreations of the Veyron’s roadster variant are limited to just 99 pieces, and the pictured model is available to order now. Owners, please contact our sales team to discuss your bespoke model requirements. Discover the full gallery on our website.
The Grand Sport was equipped with a transparent roof, taking the experience of open-top driving into a new dimension. The Veyron coupe had a unique structure that meant Bugatti couldn’t just remove the roof; they had to reengineer the passenger compartment monocoque to provide the reinforcement and rigidity required in a roadster. Consequently, the monocoque was reinforced along the sills and transmission tunnel. The monocoque and exterior of this extraordinary car are made entirely of carbon fibre.
With the roof up, the Grand Sport had the same 253mph (407km/h) top speed as the coupé. Pushing the technical limits of automotive engineering, the car, with its roof down, could still reach 223mph (360km/h).
Two new titles to recommend
Only the most exceptional books are considered a part of Amalgam’s curated collection. With that in mind we’d like to introduce two new titles from our very talented friends Bart and Lies at WAFT Publishing: Inside Valkyrie, and RUF.
Inside Valkyrie is result of five years of unlimited access to the development of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, spending countless hours with key members of the project, to produce a totally honest account. This collector’s item offers a fascinating read about the fights, worries, challenges, financial issues and politics occurring when a traditional sports car brand and a leading Formula 1 team join forces to engineer the first genuine road legal Formula 1 car.
RUF is a special set of two volumes about the life and work of Alois Ruf, with 520 pages united in a beautiful slipcase. The publication is available either in the Collector’s Edition limited to 356 sets and featuring a luxury slipcase covered with the actual RUF seat-fabric, or in a Limited Edition of 911 sets.
