Dye Transfer Editions and Originals
Dye Transfer Printing onto 1.2 mm thick aluminium panels in a range of sizes and formats. The process of dye transfer fuses the ink onto the aluminium, producing prints with an intense depth and colour intensity. The finished image is waterproof and very resistant to abrasion, so that there is no need to protect the art behind glass. The artwork is first Giclee printed onto transfer paper and is then applied to the specially coated 1.2 mm aluminium panel. The fine aluminium sheet has a stiffening frame bonded to the back, so that the piece can be hung without a frame, creating a sharp and minimal presentation of the art, floating around 5/8ths of an inch (15 mms) off of the wall. The piece can also be traditionally framed and hung if desired. Alan’s work in this medium brings exceptional precision, intensity and glamour to the finished art.
In addition to the Limited Editions in this collection, one off and short run Dye Transfer Prints can be created at very large sizes up to a maximum 8 x 4 feet - 2.4 x 1.2 metres.
